How do you guys handle explosions? I don't mean things have to be effected by it, just the visual explosion.

I don't know how to make the particle system look like a realistic explosion, it just kinda ends up being nothing one second and then everything's on fire and then it all disappears. Is there a way that I could import a 2d animation that would play somehow?

Yeah you can also use a 2d animation by apply it on a plane mesh... By applying the behaviour animate using a texture.......
