I am good with blender...
Can't use mixamo it never loads on my firefox..

Well i have converted some of vice city models into .obj file...

And am using blener rigify addon to rig them..
And using makewalk to animate them...

And i got suceeded...

But then on importing the model in ccb..

I am facing a tiny problems..

The character has some loose texture at the back side...

The middle back portion of the charcter is transparent....

Tried to use rouble sided material too it doesn't help...

Will upload screenshot if possible .. if anyone has any idea why that is happening.. it will be a lot helpfull..

Well here is a womderfull tip for those... Who wants there models to be animated quickly... Without using mixamo...

Just import your model in blender...

Add an armature...

Use rigify addon to add a human armature...

And then use makewalk to add desired animation by loading and retargeting bvh mocqp files...

You can find thousand of free mocap file online.. in bvh format...
Including regular activities walking, dancing, playing, and other cool stuff...

And your model will be animated in few minutes...

If anybody is intrested in a complete tutorial for how to animate models using makewalk and rigify tutorial...
Just leave your reply in comments...

And please if you can help me in my texture problem for that vice city obj file....

Thanks!

A tutorial would be great! I have tried using blender before but i gave up pretty quick...
I usually buy models but if animations can be done within minutes it would be worth the effort!

Blender rigging tutorial using Riggify addon.

Step 1
Open a new file and import the base model (File > Import). You can use any other biped model as well. With the model selected, press Alt+G to clear its location, so that it's placed at the center. Make sure the center of the model (orange dot) is at the bottom of the mesh. If not, Press TAB to get into edit mode and select all vertices with the A key and then Press G and move the vertices up, so that the center point is at the base of the mesh. Press TAB to get out of edit mode.
🔎︎

Step 2
Next we will enable the Rigify add-on. In the File menu select User Preferences.

🔎︎

Select the Add-on Tab and in the search box type Rigify and check the
tick box to enable it. You may press the "Save as default" button, so that Blender remembers the setting. You can now close the User Preferences Window.
🔎︎

Step 3
Make sure the 3D cursor is at the center point (bottom) of the mesh. If not, then select the object and press Shift+C and then select cursor to selected. Press Shift+A and select Armature, and now you will notice that there is a new item called Human Meta-Rig. Click on it and you will have a Human Rig.

🔎︎

🔎︎

Step 4
With the Human Rig selected, go to the Armature Properties and in the Display Panel, check X-Ray. This will enable us to see the armature through the mesh.

🔎︎

Step 5
With the Meta-Rig selected, press TAB to enter into edit mode. Scale the rig to match the mesh. Press . (period) to make the 3D cursor the pivot point for rotation and scale, and then Scale the bones. Press , (comma) to make the Median Point the center of rotations / scale.

🔎︎

Step 6
Press T to bring out the Tool Shelf and in the Armature Options, check "X axis mirror". This way any editing done on one side will be mirrored to the other.

🔎︎

Step 7
Select and move the bone tips to match the mesh.

🔎︎

Check from the Top view as well.

🔎︎

Adjust the leg bones.

🔎︎

Match the bones from the side view. Make sure to keep the knee bone a bit bent forward, i.e.
don't make the leg bones in a straight line. Once done, Save the file.

🔎︎

Step 8
Press TAB to get out of edit mode. Now we will skin the mesh to the Armature. Select the Mesh first, and then the metaRig and press Ctrl+P and select Automatic weight. The mesh is now skinned to the Armature Setup.

Till now we have successfully rigged our character. Now we will gonna animate it using Makewalk.

Blender animation tutorial using Makewalk addon.

Step 1
First of all download Blender tools for makehuman from the official makehuman site.
http://www.makehuman.org/downloa...

Step 2
Next we will enable the Makewalk add-on. Open blender ,In the File menu select User Preferences.
Select the Add-on Tab and in the search box type Makewalk and check the
tick box to enable it. You may press the "Save as default" button, so that Blender remembers the setting. You can now close the User Preferences Window.
If you can't find makewalk by typing it in the search box then try to find makehuman tools in left pane of addons.Tick Makewalk there.

Step 3
The user > interface of MakeWalk is located in under the Armature tab, and becomes visible when an armature is selected. It consists of six panels; the first one is open by default and the others are closed.
🔎︎

Step 4
Select the rigged armature and Click on load and retarget.
Select bvh mocap file.
It will load animations to the rigged armature click on animation play or press alt+A
Watch your character moving..

Step 5
Export your model to your desired format. I personally suggest to export it to .ms3d format. To use it with coppercube..

Troubleshooting:- It may be possible that when you click on Load and retarget option.
Blender will show you an error asking you to resolve rotation and location of your armature.

To resolve this issue, simply select your armature and press ctrl+A tick rotation, scale and location option.
Now try again to load and retarget bvh mocap file..

Here is the url to download thousand of free bvh mocap files.

https://sites.google.com/a/cgspe...

Their are more sites which offers free bvh mocap files just google them and you are all set..

Good Luck!

Thanks for a very well and easily explained workflow on this matter!
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it more on these forums, as I myself has struggled with this the last months and thought I should share my experience with you all and a tutorial, but you did it first :-)

I am also trying to record my own(and others) movements with a XBOX Kinect V2 and applying them with MakeWalk in Blender, with mixed results. I can write more about that in another post in the future.
If somebody else is trying the same things, please share your work-arounds!

Some other FREE(!) tools to recomend are:.
- BV-Hacker (for trimming bvh-mocap-files, etc)
- Manuel Bastioni Laboratory (amazing - check the upcoming version)
- MakeHuman (with MakeWalk-plugin as mentioned in the tutorial)
- Blender (needed for most of the recomendations above)

Others (payment):
- Akeytsu Indie (just released an early beta-version - looks very promising! Especially for those of us that have never really become friends with all traditional 3D-software)
