Specular, fog, vegetaion and decals?

So, I can't seem to find a specular section in the documentation. Does that mean this engine doesn't have basic specular mapping? Normal mapping without specular is kinda useless feature since specularity adds a whole new level of detail on various surfaces (and I'm not saying this game needs PBR for that extra realism, specular will do).

Also, does the fog not work if you use normal maps anywhere in the game? (on a wall, for example)

While we're at it. Can we import animated trees or are they static only? I saw that PostCollapse game and it seems to have only animated grass. Can we import SpeedTree trees? (I doubt it, but what about importing them as animated models?). Also, can the grass be made intractable when player walks over it? (it's pretty easy to do in Unreal engine).

Lastly, what about decals for decoration? Is that available?

I mean, all these are pretty basic features, so I am hoping they are all in-engine, working fine. From what I remember, Irrlicht Engine already had specular/HDR system.

Got curious about this engine while purchasing GameGuru today.

PS: Can we create custom particle effects in the editor or is it like GameGuru where it forces you to edit existing few particle effects only? Like, creating rain or custom fire particles. Can we do that?

PPS: I am guessing there is no dynamic shadow support? That day-night cycle could use dynamic shadows badly, especially indoor lighting.

PPPS: Is there a development blog where developer is posting the upcoming updates details? How many people work on this engine?

First of all yes, specular is available in.... Coppercube editor.... For that you have to go to views and click on "show irredit/irrlicht properties"

Then select the object and now change its ambient, diffuse, emmisive, specular .....

yes, the fog won't have any effect on the normal mapped objects...it wont work for that particular object but will work normally with the rest of scene...

Yes, you can import 3d aanimated trees if they are in .ms3d, .x, .b3d format...
Coppercube has also an inbuilt tree generator through which you can create static trees...

As currently coppercube supports only theese formats only... But you can import static models in many formats..

There are limited coppercube assets/prefabd available which you can use as decals.... But you can always import 3d models and can use them as decals.. and can also convert them to .ccp coppercube prefabs and then paste them in the coppercube prefabs directory... And they will be available in the prefabs window.. whenever you open coppercube....

Ther is also support for dynamic shadows... For that you have to change Ligting: from "none" to "dynamic" in the materials tab of the object.....

And answer to your last question... There is only single developer for this engine @Niko and yes he also had a blog.....

Thanks for the reply.

What about the particle effects though? Can we make custom particle effects or are stuck with only effects supplied by the editor?

Ohh yeah i forgot to answer the particles question....

Yes, you can create custom particles .... Like fire, snowfall, smoke, rains ,blood, etc etc...

There are no limitation to be stuck with supplied particles..

You can create a new particle system then edit its attributes...to create a custom particle...

you can also customise the water surface which will help you to create lakes, oceans, rivers etc... You can set the density, color, flow, waves etc...

Thank you. :)

Just bought it from Steam. Going to spend time going through tutorials on YouTube now.

I think it will become possible pretty soon for user who can't do shader coding.. but if you can do shader coding, I think it's possible. I've make normal mapping shader code for OpenGL, But i don't know is it work because my laptop ca't use OpenGL..
