Our company has used irrKlang before and is considering using it in a new product. For the new product we have a new requirement that we be able to record the computer audio output (for up to 40 minutes). From what I have seen in the irrKlang documentation, I do not believe that irrKlang supports this (we have v1.5.0).

Please can anyone let me know if irrKlang does support this and if so give me some indication has how to do it.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Andrew.

If you want to store the audio output irrKlang is producing itself, then this is possible using ISoundEngine::setMixedDataOutputReceiver. Using that, you will receive the pure mixed output audio data and can store it easily for example in a .WAV file.

Hello Niko,
Thanks for the reply. When I asked the question I was thinking general case -- i.e. capturing any sound that went to the audio output.

I have found a number of possible solutions:

1) Using the "Stereo Mix" capability of the card. I can then use IrrKlang to record as if it were a microphone. This works well, so long as the audio device supports it (which I understand is becoming less common nowadays).

2) I am looking into using WASAPI directly. I believe that this is possible, but the more I look into it the more I am reminded why I hate coding using MS interfaces!

I will also look at the option you suggest. If we can ensure that all audio for the product will be generated via irrKlang then this should work OK. (At the moment the use of IrrKlang for audio generation is not certain, so I need to keep my options open.)

Thanks again.
Andrew.
