@VP go to the top view of your scene put a simple camera to the center of your scene and position it on the Y-axis so that it can cover the whole scene. Now run your game either take the screenshot using the javscript command or by pressing the printscreen on your keyboard and now open mspaint press ctrl+v and save the image as png. Now use that image as radar image in the behavior. Make sure you put the accurate value for scene height and scene width in the behavior settings. A great use of the extension can be seen in letters kingdom game by the author of the post as far as i remember he is the developer of the game Letters Kingdom. You can edit the script and can also use a custom image maybe an arrow or something else for the character too. Hope that helps😇 |

Thank you just_in_case I had made a map with several rooms (using the room editor), the radar-script was mapping the entire map, instead of the individual rooms I wanted. As a workaround, rather than split the map into individual room scenes I made my own "room RADAR" (using on proximity hide/unhide[/b] overlay). I added multiple RADAR png overlays (one for every possible position on the map) then I added proximity sensors to the terrain which hide/unhide the relevant overlay whenever the player is in proximity to the corresponding terrain tile - LOL. Very clunky but it seems to work for now. I may go back eventually and change the Rooms - so I can add the RADAR script instead. |
